About
Ignite The Norse
Story
Where We Started
This ministry began as several local churches in the area gathered together with a common heart, desire, and passion to make Jesus’ name known at Northern Kentucky University. What began as a group of local churches praying for this campus soon ignited into a new Campus Ministry – Ignite the Norse.
Where We Are
Currently, we are working toward launching this ministry in the Summer of 2024. And we encourage you to join us. Whether you’re a current, future, or previous student, a parent, or someone with a heart for the next generation, we invite you to partner with us in three different ways. PRAY for the ministry that will soon take place on this campus by joining our prayer team. ENGAGE WITH US as we seek to keep you updated on this ministry and come up with unique ways you can help launch this ministry. GIVE to the mission of helping students at NKU take their first step or next step with Jesus.
Vision
Where We’re Going
Our hope is to see students at NKU awakened to the glory and goodness of God. To help them see how much better life is when you start taking steps toward knowing Him more. And to help them not only grow in their likeness to Christ but to join in on the mission of helping others take their first step or next step toward Jesus. Join us as we become a light on the hills of NKU.

First Church of Christ
I. We believe in the Triune God – Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
II. We believe that Jesus, the Son of God came and took on flesh to live among us (John 1:14). Jesus, being fully God and fully man in every way, was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life (Heb 4:15). By living a perfect life Jesus became for us our only hope for salvation (John 14:6).
III. Jesus, being put to death on the cross died the death we deserved to atone for our sin. He was raised from the grave by the power of the Holy Spirit, defeating death and assuring our future bodily resurrection (Hebrews 2:14-18, 1 Corinthians 15:52-55).
IV. We are reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ uniting ourselves in his death and resurrection (Romans 6:5-8). We are reconciled to God by no merit of our own but by the atoning work of Christ alone (Eph 2:8-9).
V. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to regenerate and dwell in Christians, establishing the Church—the worldwide community of believers (John 14:26, John 20:22).
VI. Through the power of the Spirit, the Church exists both as an outpost of the Kingdom of Heaven (2 Peter 2:9-12) and as a means through which the message of Christ’s salvation reaches the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
VII. We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, consisting of all Christians everywhere, yet organized into local assemblies called churches (Ephesians 1:22-23). Churches are responsible for oversight, instruction, edification, discipline, and restoration of Church members. The primary purpose of the Church is to worship God and glorify Him by equipping believers to reach the world with the Gospel (1 Corinthians 1:2).
VIII. We believe that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman joined by God as one flesh to image forth the unbreakable heavenly covenant between Christ and His Church. God instituted the marriage between one man and one woman as
the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5-6, Mark 10:6-9, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9).
IX. We believe that God fearfully and wonderfully created each person as male or female. These two sexes are distinct, complementary genders that reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:27).
X. Mission is the overflow of the transforming love within Christians expressed by carrying out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 10:13-15, 2 Timothy 4:5). Once the fullness of this mission has been carried out in the Father’s eyes, Christ will come again to judge the world, restore all things, and fully institute the Kingdom of God (Acts 3:21).
